Jojoba is technically a liquid wax which is extracted from the seeds of woody shrub of the same name. It has been used by the Indigenous people of Mexico and the Southern US to condition hair and animal hides.
Modern science has discovered that this botanical compound is bio identical to our skin's naturally produced oil-sebum.
Regulates Skin's Oil Production
Jojoba is the closest thing to our skin's naturally occurring oils in all of nature. When applied topically it will regulate and balance how much oil your skin produces, making it a superior "oil" for all skin types, especially those of us with oily T-zones and acne.
Speaking of Acne
Jojoba is not going to clog your pores. In fact, it has anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties, making it likely to soothe your acne and heal skin more quickly.
Because Jojoba is a wax it has the ability to sort of seal in all the other lovely ingredients in our Nourish without being drying or leaving a film. This provides protection against free radicals and environmental dirt.
